In
order of priority, first comes family and then
profession.
aaaaaMike has 2 adult
daughters and 4 grandchildren.
Educational degrees are
only a way of keeping score. If
there is no learning, then there is no value
to the degree.
aaaaaOne daughter is
an ordained Lutheran minister with a Doctorate
in MInistry in progress. The second aaaaahas
a PhD in Neuroscience.
ACTIVITIES
Mike's
philosophy of life is to live it like a
Nova - a star
that shines in full
brightness - having expended every bit
of energy when it reaches the end of life.
In
keeping
with his philosophy, Mike:
aaaaaclimbed
Mt. Whitney at age 14.
aaaaaselected
class president 3 years running.
aaaaawon
his first Varsity letter in freshman year (tennis and later football)
aaaaabecame
a Life Scout with the Pro-Deo et Patria
award.
aaaaaflew a Cessna 150
from California to New York and back.
aaaaaas
well as aerobatic and glider flight.
aaaaahas
flown a hang glider, and made a free-fall parachute jump.
aaaaahas
a certificate in Hypnotherapy.
aaaaaspent fourteen
years bringing church services to the HIV ward of
San Quentin state prison.
aaaaaorganized
and directed Christmas in April (now called
Rebuilding Together) with groups up to 200.
aaaaadesigned and created
37 etched and stained glass windows for a local church.
aaaaadesigned and sold
windows for local and East Bay Restaurants.
aaaaaexhibited and
sold stained glass, etched glass, and carved wooden
artifacts.
aaaaawrote
and appeared in a variety of plays.
aaaaahas performed duties of master of ceremonies for groups up to 600 people.
aaaaahas
taught classes in
and out of the work environment including an MBA course in Operations aaaaaAnalysis.
aaaaahas
had a short story published in a book titled "Serving Time Serving Others."
aaaaais
presently working on publishing a management book.

States and lived and/or worked on the East
Coast, aaaaaMidwest,
and West Coast; they have traveled in Mexico, Spain,
ENgland, Italy, Germany, Peru,
aaaaaIsrael, Jordan,
Egypt and Greece.

enjoyed every country for its unique cultural treasures,
travel highlights definitely include

rope ladder
180 feet above the rainforest, camping on the Amazon
90 miles from Equitos, aaaaarowing
aaborrowed
dug-ut
canoe on the Rio Nito and sitting in an open pole house
sharing aaaaastoriesawith
a Peruvian
farmer about
our families as well as our mutual aspirations.
